Resurrection
Forensic science is one of the fastest growing professions in America thanks to a television series called: CSI short for Crime Scene Investigation. There are no less than three CSI programs now: CSI-New York, CSI-Miami and CSI-Las Vegas. Because of CSI juries are not so quick to condemn suspects, they now wait for the forensic evidence of hair skin samples, blood splatters, DNA, fingerprint analysis and laser- guided projectile examinations, accurate fiber and chemical analysis, Luminol applications and nationwide data base reports before they make decisions.
Depending on the quality of the forensic evidence, forensic investigators can usually tell you what happened, who did it, when and how they did it. Sometimes this has been achieved with just the smallest amount of hair, blood or skin tissue; even years after a death.
Defense attorneys have used forensic evidence such as DNA to prove clients not-guilty. Prosecutors have used forensic evidence to condemn slick crooks who would have otherwise escaped capture.
Without a doubt, a thorough crime scene investigation can bring out the truth.
As Christians, we celebrate the resurrection of Christ. What evidence could a thorough examination of the scene reveal to us? If we look at the cross and the empty tomb, what truths can we learn about these two events that would help us to reach a decision about the power of God in our lives? More importantly, what evidence could we find in our lives that he is truly risen and is our Lord and savior? Today, be happy that the evidence we have points us to to a living God, who is able to respond to our needs.
