Have you ever met the man who claimed to be fearless?
There are some men who readily boast that they are not afraid of anything. They brag that they are not afraid of pain, death, danger or anything walking or breathing. Such men boldly claim to be invincible Titans who fear nothing.
Even young men have a tendency to take on immense danger to prove themselves. Sometimes the smallest guy on the campus decides to take on the biggest and baddest guy he can find just to prove that he is fearless. The macho feeling that many men have derives from their desire to impress upon everybody everywhere that they are afraid of nobody. In reality, all of us are afraid of something, even though we may act otherwise.
Everyone is afraid of something. Some of us are afraid of the dark.
Some of us are afraid of losing our positions or our jobs.
Some of us are afraid of what people say.
When it comes to men there are generally two categories: The self made man and the man who fears the Lord.
What can a man do to guarantee he will be blessed by God? Is there a certain thing he can do or say? If he fears the Lord, both his wife and children shall be a blessing to him.
As Christians, we know that there are things in life more important that possessions, money, power and influence. These things come from God. They are means to achieve an end but they are not an end in themselves. We cannot live happily with just what this world offers us. There is a more evasive but substantive truth we all know, that to be really happy we must walk in the Lord, and cling to every word that proceedeth out of his mouth.
