Have you ever had opportunities made available to you that you did not earn?
Generally, whenever we receive something without have labored to attain it is said that we have received it on a silver platter.
We know about silver platters. Our platters are those things we enjoy that we did not work to provide. Many adults have resources today that were provided by parents: land, finances or standing. Many children today have plenty of opportunities available to them, thanks to the good will of their parents.
Lest any child should become too self assured he or she should consider that they grow up in homes where they do not pay the rent or house not. They enjoy color television, inside bathrooms, showers, cell phones, clothes and often computers that they did not buy. All these things were handed to them on silver platters.
Life does not serve us opportunities on silver platters. Anything we have is the result of the grace and good will of someone.
Students study in college but much of their educational maintenance comes from the grace and good will of scholarship donors, grant providers, student work opportunities and loving parents.
Very few people today can claim that they earned everything they have today without help from anyone. Most of us began our adult lives on the strength of someone else's signature as our co-signers, riding in someone else's car and even borrowing clothes and food from someone else's pantry and closet.
God's goodness to us opens the door of opportunity for us. It's all the more reason we should praise him. He is given us more than we deserve.
As Christians, we should be eternally grateful that God loves us and gives us his grace. Through his grace we are enjoying life. We should freely return that favor by praising God in every way that we can.
