How much time to do you spend every day waiting? Most of us detest waiting. It seems that we spend most of our lives waiting on something.
We wait for the coffee to brew.
We wait for water to boil, popcorn to pop, and for all the commercials to pass before we can watch our rented DVD.
We wait for the train to pass. We wait for our tax refund check.
We wait in lines at stores. We go out to eat and wait in more lines. Before we come home we wait in a traffic jam.
If we call someone on the phone we wait. If we get them on the phone we wait while they put us on hold because they have call waiting.
We wait in line the doctor's office, the first day of school and at the health clinic.
We finally get enough money for cablevision then have to wait a week to get it installed.
We can't wait for our children to be born, and then spend the next 18 years waiting for them to leave.
As Christians, we strive for the ability to wait patiently, knowing that when we do, God will lead us in the right direction.
