Light
We are fascinated by the stars of the heavens. We are humbled, awed, inspired and challenged by these lights that quietly wink at us in the sky.
In ancient civilizations the stars were used as guides in the planting of crops. Sailors could plot their positions on the seas and navigate by the stars. Ancient folklore created stories about certain groupings of stars and gave them names that we know as the constellations.
Stars have come to represent importance and achievement. The Star of David is the national shield of Israel. The American flag has 50 stars, each representing a state, and a person who succeeds, in the cinema is called a Movie Star. Even children sing Twinkle Twinkle, little star, how I wonder who you are..
Certainly we are fascinated with stars. But there was once a bright and shining star that guided men toward the Son of God.
The nature of this star is a mystery to us! We don't know the nature of its
composition. We dont know its comparable size, age, color or distance from the earth. We don't know much about this special star, but what we do know is that this star, guided men to the feet of the Savior.
