When judged by the plumbline of God's judgment, men are coming up short when it comes to kingdom building.
Over the last 50 years, we have witnessed the leadership of our local churches become female-dominated. This is not a putdown of women who lead, it is however a reflection of the deteriorating condition in many of our churches. The sad fact is that there are not many men to choose from: In their absence, women are stepping up to the plate and becoming program leaders, superintendents, deacons, trustees, ministers and even pastors. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but it does put an unnecessary burden on women who are acting in the absence of available men.
Male participation is being measured by the plumbline in God's hand. We can atone.
God's men should arise because when men come to God, the church changes.
When men come to God, the community changes.
When men come to God, the world changes.
When men throw out the net of salvation, they become fishers of men who can reach others on the behalf of Christ.
