If we are fisher's of men we must learn what to keep and what to throw away.
Different fish are cleaned different ways. Those who clean fish such as Brims and Perch usually have to scrape them. Scraping is messy because it usually splashes scales everywhere: on the hands, arms and anywhere within a scrape zone of four or five feet. On the other hand Catfish must be skinned, not scraped. Some find that you need special tools such as a pair of pliers to skin a catfish. No matter which way that is done, cleaning fish is an unsavory experience.
The person who cleans fish must know what to keep and what to throw away. Did you know that in some parts of the country there are people who fry fish with the eyes in place; so they don't throw the eyes away? In some circles fish eggs are considered delicacies. In many parts of the South those who clean the fish leave the head in place, they fry fish with the head on it. Others cut the head off but don't throw it away; they use it separately.
When we bring people to Christ we should let the Holy Spirit do the seperating, lest we throw away the wrong par.
