Do you ever think about the wonderful blessings that God has given you? Sometimes, in the midst of our complaining we actually forget how good God has been to us. Despite the difficulties of our past, and obstacles that have been placed in our way, God has blessed our people in a wondrous way. We have made the treacherous climb of the mountain of slavery. We have forded the streams of racism. We have survived the bitterness of genocide and economic depravation. Despite these and other difficulties, we can truthfully say, God has blessed us with wondrous blessings.
The world has seen wondrous works that have resulted from the mind and soul of people of African ancestry. The bible often points to the great accomplishments of the African peoples, but we often miss the references in the blur of geography that passes us very quickly. Yet, in the bible itself, the record of the wondrous work that God gave the world through African peoples is evident. Some of the greatest achievements in early world history were the wondrous works of the people of Africa, as the bible so precisely notes.
We cannot help but reflect upon the wonderful blessings that God has given us, despite ourselves. We should never forget his wondrous works, timely intervention, and the uninterrupted flow of blessings that have fallen upon us from the throne of God.
As Christians, we remember God's compassion and benevolence. We see his hand and mercy and give him praise for he has done wondrous works for those whose journey began in the land of Ham!
Today, look for God's hand of mercy, he shows it to people of all races, yours too.
