We, the faithful must continue to remind those who hear us that God is measuring us with a plumbline.
We should strive to straighten up so we can measure up when He judges our witness in the land of the ungodly.
If the Bible record holds true today then God's love and wrath is visited upon the earth in visible ways.
When he is pleased the world enjoys rainbow experiences of fertile crops, mild winters, and abundant foods. When he is angry there are floods, earthquakes, famines, and destruction in diverse places.
Today, it feels that the world is a little off plumb in ways that have angered heaven. It could very well be that the raging fires in the west, hurricanes in the heartland, and melting snowcaps in the arctic are signs that we have measured and been found wanting.
There is a plumbline in the hand of God and the church must sound the alarm that God is not pleased, but all is not lost; He will show mercy to the faithful. We can rise to the occasion because we serve a God who has proven that He can make a way out of no-way, open doors that have been shut, and lift fallen hopes and dreams.
