The psalmist question has enormous implications for expectations that God has for such a lowly creature as man. The psalmist words, linger: "What is man, that thou art mindful of him?"
What is man? He has 263 bones, 600 muscles, and 970 miles of blood vessels.
What is man? He has 400 cups on his tongue for taste, 20,000 minuscule hairs in his ears to tune into sound, 40 pounds of jaw pressure, 10 million nerves and branches in his body.
What is man? He has 600,000,000 air cells that breathe in his lungs.
His heart beats 4,200 times an hour and pumps 12 tons of blood every day.
What is man that God would give him such an awesome task of leading and dominating all of creation?
As Christians, we know God created a beautiful world and placed man in control. He is a great who has a reason for all that he does. Christian men have the responsibility to live up to our commitment to exercise leadership in the home, church and general community as stewards of Godís great creation. He made us a little lower than the angels, but if we carry out our mission heíll give us a song that even the angels canít sing, ěIíve been washed in the blood of the crucified lamb, Iíve been redeemed!î
