Have you ever been infatuated?

   Infatuations are a normal part of teen life. Teens who are infatuated with another person however, should not confuse it with love. Infatuations come and go and feel like love at the moment. Your hand sweats, heart pounds and life just takes your breath away at the thought of Mr. Dynamite and Miss Gorgeous. But there are some dont have just a mild case of infatuation, they have it bad. Real bad. We have seen them. Some people who have it bad become unstable, have mood shifts and angry outbursts with little provocation; they are impulsive in their behavior; can make suicide attempts, often to manipulate others; they seem to lack a coherent sense of self and identity; and cling to others hoping to get it from relationships; terrified of being abandoned and alone. Such people, like Glen Close in the movie Fatal Attraction can be dangerous as well.

   Its not just people that can get us hooked, but we can hooked on a passion or pastime. We can get hooked on football, basketball, or video games to a point that they are the only things we think about! We get hints that we have it bad when we mistakenly call any adult figure coach. It's when we consider leaving home for school getting off the bench and going into the game. It's when we prepare to slam dunk a test! We have it bad when we pass by a computer at school and want to touch the key board to see if our favorite game is installed!

   There are many things that we have really bad.

   Today, it will be hard for you to keep your peace about the goodness of God. You will try, but you won't succeed because you have it really bad.
