Have you been keeping up with all of the news concerning gene research?

   Science has discovered that we are born with a set of genes that determine our race, physical traits, and abilities. They have found ways to isolate these genes and discover what makes them work. They can even alter some of them in ways that will prevent diseases. Whats amazing is that they can reproduce DNA and can produce clones, or duplicates of living creatures. They have done it successfully with sheep, cows and other animals. While it is illegal in the United States to clone human, it will only be a matter of time before the process will be applied to humans as well.

   We are born with genes that control our physical lives. Yet, spiritually God is challenging every believer to be born again.

   Our physical genes control the way we look and other factors but our spiritual genes control our soul. We are born with a set of spiritual genes that are sinful in nature. Our entire focus in life is self-preservation and self-promotion. We are encouraged spiritually to look hard at that set of spiritual genes and trade them in for spiritual genes that are born of God.

   As Christians, we revel in the fact that we are born, but we rejoice in the fact that we have been born again.
